How to get to Drake Bay

BOAT

There are 2 schedules for the boats that leave from Sierpe to Drake Bay:

1) Leaves at 11:30 with an approximate 45 minutes to 1 hour to Drake Bay. $15 PP

2) Leaves at 15:30 with an approximate of 45 minutes to 1 hour to Drake Bay. $20 PP

If you come driving to Sierpe with your own car, you can leave it at the private park of the Restaurante Oleaje Sereno (where the boats leave). At a cost of ($5 per day)

The boats leave from Drake Bay to Sierpe:

1) 7:15am $15 PP

2) 14:30pm $20 PP

To enter by this means we suggest a 4x4. Also we remind you that no Rent A Car company is responsible for damages caused by crossing rivers.

BUS

From San José by bus you would have to stop in Palmar Norte and then take a collective taxi that costs $5 PP approximately to Sierpe, where you will then take the boat to Drake Bay.

***We recommend that you take the Tracopa buses coming by the route of the Costanera with a duration of 5 hours and a price around $11 PP.**

You can also take these buses:

-from Manuel Antonio, Dominical or Uvita to Palmar Norte.

-Puerto Jiménez - La Palma (11am or 3pm) to make connection in La Palma (11:30 or 4:30) to Drake Bay.

- Drake Bay - La Palma - Puerto Jiménez (4am or 1:30am) SUNDAYS THERE IS NO BUS SERVICE.
